The City Council of Madrid, using exclusively internal resources, produces, on an ongoing basis, a list of 25 European cities based on various classifications, data and statistics. In this study, published annually, the evolution of the city is analysed together with its international positioning based on a set of indicators divided into four sections:
-Transport and travel connections
-Quality of life
This project was created with the aim of determining Madrid's position compared to those of other major European cities, its advantages and weaknesses and its evolution. This makes it possible to identify which action areas require greater effort or whether a change of strategy should be introduced in view of the results included in the report.
The ranking also serves as a reliable, updated and complete tool for informing potential investors, experts, entities and interested persons with regard to important economic data.
It was created in 2007. It has an indefinite duration on an annual basis.
